When addressing the question of morality, the contrast between a Biblical worldview and Naturalism is stark. For the Christian, morality is not a social construct but is rooted in the character of God Himself; as noted by Goheen and Bartholomew, the biblical story insists that ethical norms are objective and woven into the fabric of creation (Goheen and Bartholomew 2024). In contrast, a Naturalist worldview, which posits that nature is all there is, must derive morality from evolutionary utility or social contract. Consequently, while a Christian views the protection of the weak as a divine mandate reflecting the Imago Dei, a strict Naturalist might struggle to justify this altruism if it contradicts the survival of the fittest.
